Amnesiac Studios was born from the vision of Walter Babbini — guitarist, executive producer, and a prominent figure in the Italian music industry — to create a personal, independent, and high-performance production space.

The objective was to blend a warm, cozy, "homy" atmosphere with the technical rigor and high-end equipment of a world-class professional facility.

The acoustic and interior design, crafted by Giulia Bondielli, features clean, sleek, horizontal lines emphasized by an indirect lighting system. This setup perfectly showcases the producer's extensive collection of analog gear, electronics, and custom guitar pedals. 

For the isolation and acoustic treatment construction, we partnered with Frank Salvi (Stop Sound Insonorizzazioni).

 Acoustic solutions and design

The centerpiece of the control room’s acoustic design is the rear wall, which integrates Studio Sound Service’s iconic custom acoustic diffuser. This geometric structure not only ensures optimal control of the reflected sound field but also blends fluidly into the central line of the room, becoming the studio's defining visual element.

The space is characterized by warm tones and materials chosen to provide comfort during long production sessions, without ever compromising on acoustic response, which remains linear, precise, and focused.

 Technical integration and future-proofing

Reflecting Walter Babbini’s constant search for unconventional, top-tier solutions, the monitoring setup relies on elite, niche listening systems such as Kii Audio and Barefoot Sound — perfect for the critical listening and meticulous attention to detail that define his productions.

With a strong future-proof approach, the studio has been fully pre-wired and designed for Dolby Atmos immersive audio integration. While currently operating in a stereo configuration, the geometric and acoustic infrastructure is already scaled and ready to welcome a multichannel evolution at any time.
