Museo della Natura e dell'Uomo - Padua
Complete acoustic design for the Museum of Nature and Humankind in Padua, including building acoustics, internal acoustic comfort for exhibition spaces, and specialized design for the auditorium.
Read moreStudio Sound Service handled the complete acoustic design for the Museum of Nature and Humankind in Padua, an important cultural project of the University of Padua inaugurated at the end of the celebrations for the 800th anniversary of its foundation. The particularly complex and articulated intervention was developed on three levels: the building acoustics of the entire complex, the acoustic comfort of the internal exhibition spaces, and the specific design of the auditorium. For building acoustics, solutions were implemented for sound isolation between different environments and from the exterior, respecting the architectural constraints of the historic building. In the exhibition spaces, the project aimed to create a controlled and immersive sound environment that enhances the multimedia and interactive experience of the installation, with particular attention to reverberation management and speech intelligibility in the various museum sections. For the auditorium, specialized acoustic design was implemented to optimize listening quality for conferences, presentations, and cultural events. The intervention integrated harmoniously with the restoration and museum design project by Guicciardini & Magni Architects, contributing to the creation of a unique scientific museum ecosystem, housing a heritage of 200,000 naturalistic and anthropological artifacts.
