Owned by Simone Lampedone — an esteemed sound engineer, producer, and permanent instructor at the renowned Music Lab in Turin — this facility was born with a clear objective: to operate without boundaries within the music production market for television and cinema.

A cutting-edge, multichannel environment, it was conceived from day one to be Dolby Atmos Ready, ensuring maximum flexibility for the most complex multimedia workflows, from soundtrack creation to mixing for both the big and small screen.

The Control Room: visual ergonomics and iconic inspirations

The beating heart of Studio Docet is a Control Room engineered for critical listening and sonic accuracy. It is currently configured as a 5.1 system featuring flush-mounted Genelec monitors, with the infrastructure already fully prepared for an upgrade to immersive audio formats.

The control room's aesthetics are defined by unique, customized interior design choices. Dominating the rear wall is an imposing acoustic diffuser: a highly iconic element with a cusped geometry that subtly evokes the famous, historic artwork of Joy Division. This concept, proposed by our team and enthusiastically embraced by Simone, was optimized using our proprietary calculation software to merge excellent acoustic performance with a visual impact completely new to the market.

The lateral acoustic treatment features a refined, multi-tiered boiserie with horizontal lines, designed to give the room an airy and spacious feel. Here, lighting plays a key role in workflow comfort: we opted for indirect lighting integrated into the various levels of the paneling. This allows Simone to work effortlessly with the video projector and the projection screen installed in front of the monitors (utilizing a specific acoustically transparent fabric), eliminating distracting reflections and ensuring total visual comfort even during extended video sessions.

The Recording Room: a brilliant "Neutral Room"

Adjacent to the control room lies a generously sized live room, designed to accommodate small ensembles such as string quartets, as well as vocalists and solo instruments — essential components for the television production market.

Acoustically, we designed a neutral room: a space with a contained reverberation time that still delivers an extremely brilliant, lively, and never dull sound, perfect for capturing the organic dynamics of acoustic instruments. The aesthetic and functional fil rouge seamlessly connects back to the control room, utilizing lateral boiserie that alternates fabric-covered absorbent modules with rigid, reflective wooden elements to guarantee optimal diffusion and a continuous horizontal design. On the ceiling, the very same geometric motif from the control room is transformed into a custom acoustic skyline, completing the visual and architectural identity of Studio Docet.
